Fun Just Begins

Wow, where has the time gone. I am not sure but let the fun begin. I started school this week, and I am taking on more credits than I have in the past, ranging from history, to science to music to auditing. The kids also started school this week. Espen is the big kindergartner, and loves it. I was very afraid he was going to have a bad first day and not want to go back, but it was the complete opposite. Full-time kindergarten is going to be a big change for him and as me as well. I will have to be up, ready and take him to school, every morning.

Jayda is in Pre-K, two days a week. Mrs. Jensen said she is the funniest 3 years old she knows and will say anything at anytime. No, way this is not my Jayda :)

Additions to Our Family

We knew we were going to be expecting.... kittens that is. The day before Memorial Day Lucy had four babies. We named them Squeekers, Boots, Macy and Roscoe. Roscoe was the smallest runt of the four.
Unfortunately, Roscoe did not make it but the other three are as playful as can be. We are happy to have them part of our Kunze family.

Water Line Leak In Our Back Yard

The sound of a water sprinkler in the back yard is not a good sign when there is not one. Kory told me we had a water leak. Our course we made a few phone calls to get the leak replaced but never imagined coming home to the whole back yard dug up. As the holes were dug to find the leak, water kept filling them up so we had to create a whole trench for the water line. Never under-estimated the power of pocket gophers.

JollyFisherman Resort

Allen and Marilyn have taken their kids to Jolly Fisherman resort near Park Rapids, MN ever since Kory was 5 years old. We are now continuing with the tradition and bringing our kids there. We were all excited for this trip to come where we could relax, fish and let the kids play and swim for 7 days. We arrived on Saturday June 19th, and Grandpa and Grandma Moo came on the following Tuesday. Tom and Stacey came that Friday. It was a great week and look forward to it next year. Over the years the kids have made friends and were able to see them again this year. The kids got used to staying up way past their bedtime and sleeping in. It took us all a little bit to get back into the groove of the real world.

Fishing In North Dakota

We have taken advantage of the beautiful wether and have been taking the kids fishing. Our first trip was to the crossing and the plan was for Kory and Espen to fish, as Jayda and I would watch. Grandpa Moo Moo told Espen to make sure his brings home a big fish and of course Espen caught a keeper; however Dad forgot to bring a bucket with so we couldn't take it home. Thank goodness for cell phones so we could at least take a picture.

Jayda was begging us to take her fishing so all of us went out to Bloomers Pond. She does not have the patience to fish and in no time she was all tangled up in her line as she was pretending to be a ballerina. Being a ballerina gave her luck because she caught her first fish ever and it wasn't a bull-head.

Kids Summer Rec Activities

Espen is active in T-Ball and Track and Field this summer. T-Ball is twice a week during the early afternoon and absolutely loves it. His team is sponsored by the VCPR Fitness Center. Espen participated in Track and Field last year and loved that too. We are going to have to get a place for all his ribbons. He participates in teh Softball throw, 50 and 100 yard dash. He is very much a competitor (like his father)

Jayda is also able to participate in Track and Field but she is not as competitive as her brother. This year we were notified that participation ribbons were not going to be given out this year and I could just imagine the fit that Jayda would throw because she didn't get a ribbon. But low and behold she placed third in the long jump. She was so proud of her ribbon!

These activities keep us busy enough and of course Espen wants to take swimming lessons, play soccer, basketball and football (Thank goodness he is not old enough to participate in some of these yet)....

Espen Graduating From Pre-K

It feels not that long ago, telling Kory that we were going to be be expecting and now Espen has graduated from Pre-K and is going to be a full time kindergartner at St. Catherine's in Valley City. Espen has turned into quite a mature little boy but don't get me wrong..he still has his moments.
